FOREWORD
I am very happy to write a few words in this page because I believe what we are going to do is very significant indeed for Tennis in Selangor. This ‘Foreword’ message will signal STA’s move forward (please excuse the pun) in a structured and planned manner for the betterment of the sport through a committed development programme, particularly at junior level, with the objective of producing more players of quality who will make Selangor and Malaysia proud one day. There have been and still are, players from our region competing creditably among the world’s best. Why not from Malaysia? And why not from Selangor? Although there has been a long gap lets pick up again the trail left by Adam Malik.
Selangor has always been in the forefront of Malaysian tennis. Indeed it is a power house of sports of all kinds. If not how could it become champions of SUKMA for the last 4 times consecutively. I believe this is so because there are sporting talents everywhere in the State and there are people, organization, government or private, who are ready to contribute to the achievement in sports in the State. In tennis we have had the ever ready support of the Majlis Sukan Negeri Selangor, Majlis Perbandaran Petaling Jaya, Nestle, PKNS, Wilson etc etc. So lets justify to them their support to us and others, by showing that we are determined and committed and that the days of adhoc programmes are gone.
